How Does Nolvadex Work?

Nolvadex 20mg is a famous selective estrogen receptor modulator that is often equated with an anti-estrogen. In fact, it's more complicated than that: it acts both as an anti-estrogen in certain parts of the body by targeting certain genes, and both as an estrogen by targeting other genes. It is very useful during a recovery, at the end of an anabolic steroid cycle, because it has the ability to block the negative feedback of estrogens at the level of the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland: by binding to receptors of estrogen present in the hypothalamus, it will inhibit the action of estrogen, thus, the body will detect a low level of estrogen and will give the order to produce more Lh, which will in turn allow the production of testosterone via Leydig cells. During a cycle, tamoxifen also allows (although this is not the ideal use to be made of it) to block estrogen and thus prevent the appearance of gynecomastia. There are some rumors going around about some muscle growth inhibiting effect when taking nolvadex, this has not yet been fully proven, however, it is still best to save nolvadex for your post cycle therapy and to make use of an aromatase inhibitor, in order to control your estrogen level, this will be much more effective. Tamoxifen also has, in rare cases, a side effect on weight gain, nothing has been proven yet, however some women and men have experienced weight gain when using nolvadex 20mg, this remains however very rare and minimal.
